Tuba Mouthpiece

The MAXIMUS® Tuba Mouthpiece by IYM Corp. is a heavy mass design. The MAXIMUS® tuba mouthpiece produces a full concert sound with less effort. The player will find it very responsive, especially in the lower register, to produce that desirable full orchestral tone. The heavy mass produces a darker sound while delivering a centered pitch accross the dynamic range of the instrument. The large throat and bore allow free movement of energy directly into the horn resulting in a warmer, more powerful sound well suited to all musical styles. The clear, rounded tone is accurate in note placement and articulation. The design elements combine to make the tuba mouthpiece easy to play and increase the player's endurance. Made in the USA using the latest high-tech equipment to assure quality control.

IYM mouthpieces are plated with 2 to 4 times more silver than most other mouthpieces. This means a higher quality product with a surface which will last longer. When thin plating wears off, it exposes the player to the base metal which is not recommended as a playing surface. Better plating will provide a smoother surface for a longer time and greatly reduce re-plating costs and the inconvenience of being without your mouthpiece for any length of time.

The mouthpiece has opened up the bottom of every horn I've tried it on, including some of those well-known for that condition. It is very easy to reach every note in the low, pedal register, without having to use exotic or alternate fingerings. The sound is full and easy to control. An amazing mouthpiece. - T. Griffith, Houston, Texas

I am very impresed with the mouthpiece. I can tell the difference in my tone and others have commented on it as well. As advertised, it decreases the effort needed to produce a good, deep, focused tone. Very well worth it. - D. Warner, Wash., DC

The MAXIMUS mouthpiece has very good range, the articulation is very positive and the low register has a lot more clarity than other products. - C. Schuchat, Tubist, Elgin Symphony Orchestra
